3D ARCHERY is a type of archery activity that simulates hunting situations. 3D Animal Targets are placed out on our Field Course at various distances from the designated shooting stakes. Most distances are unmarked for that simulated hunting condition. The 3D Targets are usually life-size representation of game that are constructed of EPA foam. The goal of this archery activity is to practice shooting at different target setups at varying distances to sharpen the archer’s hunting skills.
LRGC has a Field Course that at certain times of the year consists of either bag targets, 3D targets, or a combination of both. The Field Course is open to members and their guests during normal club hours. The Field Course offers to routes, each about 1.3 miles long with fifteen (15) target setups per route. Only arrows with target points are permitted for use on this course. No Broad-heads or Broad-head Practice Points are allowed on the Field Course.
At various times of the year, LRGC holds a special expanded 3D Archery Event. All 3D Archery Events are open to members and the public. All types of archery equipment are permitted (recurve, longbow, compound, and crossbow). For more information on the 3D Archery Events, click here to view the event calendar. Visit the Club Calendar frequently for the latest information regarding up-and-coming shooting events.
