Archery is one of the strong points of the Langhorne Rod and Gun Club. The club has a permanent 3-D Archery target range that is open during all club hours. The club also offers many actvities and holds special events throughout the year.
Field Course (for member use during normal club hours)
Our field course consists of two loops with fifteen targets. Each target has a large rubber backstop. The targets are either baled excelsior or Merrill Bone Crusher targets . Most of the targets are faced with animal targets painted by Archery Committee members. Target distances range from 15 yards to about 60 yards. Crossbows are not allowed to be used on this course unless specified.
Practice Range (for member use during normal club hours)
Targets range from 10 yards up to 60 yards, and consists of either baled excelsior, bags, or foam, with some 3-D’s. We have an elevated stand to shoot at 3-D targets that are set out. Broadheads may be used ONLY on the 3-D or foam block targets. Crossbows are allowed to be to be used on the practice course.
Youth Archery
We have a supply of bows and arrows for young archers who don’t have their own equipment. Our knowledgeable Safety Officers can give them instructions on shooting at a 10 yard target, and eventually moving to the 20 yard targets.
3-D Shoots (open to the public)
Our 3-D shoots are held on the 2nd Sunday of the month March through November. Visit the 3-D Archery page for more information.
Indoor Shooting (open to the public)
We shoot indoors at twenty yard targets (and a few 3-D targets) every Friday night. Visit the Indoor Archery page for more information.
