Archery is one of the strong points of the Langhorne Rod & Gun Club (LRGC) and is overseen by the Archery Committee. The club has a permanent Field Course and Practice Range that is open to member’s and their guests during all club hours. The club also offers many activities and holds special events throughout the year for members and public alike.
Field Course (for members and their guests during normal club hours):
Our Field Course consists of two (2) halves, each with fifteen (15) target setups. Each target setup has a shooting stake, bag or 3D target, and a large backstop. Field target distances range from fifteen (15) yards to about seventy-five (75) yards. All types of archery equipment are allowed (recurve, longbow, compound, and crossbow).
Practice Range (for member use during normal club hours)
Our Practice Range consists of six (6) target setups ranging from ten (10) yards to sixty (60) yards. Each target setup has a designated shooting area, bag target, and large backstop. There is an elevated platform stand with 3D targets / block targets set out to thirty (30) yards to practice tree stand hunting situations. Broad-heads and Broad-head Practice Points are only permitted at the 3D targets at the elevated platform stand. Field points must be used at all other target setups.
Youth / Beginner Archery
We have loaner bows and arrows for youths and adults, who don’t have their own equipment but want to get introduced to and get some experience with the sport before making any equipment purchases. These loaner bows and arrows are only for use at our Indoor Archery sessions (reference “Indoor Archery” section that follows). Our knowledgeable and experienced safety officers can give instructions on shooting and range safety. We start out beginner youth / adult archers at a ten (10) yard distance with hopes of you eventually advancing to the twenty (20) yard distance.
3-D Shoots (open to the public)
Our 3D Shoots are held on the 2nd Sunday of the month, March through November. For more information, click here.

All types of archery equipment are permitted (recurve, longbow, compound, and crossbow). For more information, click here.
